St James Quarter Sessions returns to Edinburgh this August for its second year. A free music festival in the heart of the city, St James Quarter Sessions 2024 showcases a diverse range of musical performances from over 80 artists and DJ’s.

St James Quarter Sessions 2024 will run from Friday 16th August to Sunday 25th August. This year’s festival introduces new venues and stages. New for 2024 also is a rooftop stage with views across Edinburgh to the castle, Arthur’s Seat and Calton Hill.

With more than 80 acts performing across the Galleria and five venues within St James Quarter, from pop-up live acoustic sets and DJs to full band performances, this year’s programme features an eclectic mix of music from across a wide range of genres including jazz, rock, R&B, hip hop, indie, electronica, folk and more.

Some of the names confirmed to appear so far include Shambolics, Fergus McCreadie and Logan’s Close alongside a line-up of some of Scotland’s top DJ’s including Hayley Zalassi, Disco Tits and Domenic Cappello.

Alongside bringing in more established names from across the UK, this year’s festival will showcase local talent and support Scotland’s up-and-coming musicians. Taking place for ten days during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, St James Quarter Sessions begins on August 2 with a series of pop-up busking performances. Running throughout August, musicians can apply for a paid performance slot with applications set to open on Friday July 5.
